We had a tight battle at Stetson’s the other night…for 2nd-4th place, at least. But we had extra prizes to give out, so that dampened the blow for some of the teams looking up at It’s Not the Seismic, It’s How You Use It who took first place with 78. And as that team has won 4 weeks in a row, I threatened to go antitrust and break up their 8-person behemoth if they win again next week. The other prize places came down to the very final questions, in this week’s special earthquake round. Shake and Bake came from behind to take 2nd with 64 points, winning this week’s special prize of four tickets to Oklahoma! at the Arena Stage, and this means that The Hurricane Was Epic, in 3rd with 62, won the usual second-place prize of $25 off their tab. Marcus Bachmann Hired to Keep Washington Monument Straight, just knocked out of the money with 61 points, at least had the consolation of winning the prize for best team name, and they got to choose a round for next week. Thus, next week, be ready for a round on “French words used in English.”
Also – look here and in the bar for further updates – but we may have another league beginning sometime in the early fall. I’ll keep you posted.
See you Tuesday!
